Film Group

There is currently a vacancy in the U3A Film Group.  The group meets once a month at 7.30pm in a member’s house and each pay £1 when we attend.  We also pay 50p for refreshments.  For further information please contact GL, Helen Hickman, at helen.h5776@gmail.com 

Our liveley group of up to a dozen film enthusiasts meets informally once a month. After discussion of the chosen film, we close the meeting by watching a short film of 20-30 minutes duration. To date these have been humorous, but all genres of short film are acceptable.

Each month a different member chooses the film for discussion. Last year we worked our way through the decades from the 1940’s to the 2010’s.

The organisation of our group is a little like a book club in that all members watch the chosen film before the meeting. The only requirements are that chosen films should not be over 2 hours long and be readily accessible, either for purchase at a moderate price, to view online, borrow from the local library, or to share amongst members.
